Process
	Tuit/Act/Conf:  Original request plus 8 copies, each with
	documentation (conference: showing dates, registration fees,
	hotel costs); must be received in the Professional Growth Chair's
	office by 5 p.m. on the 1st Wednesday of each month.  MAT Prof.
	Growth Committee reviews requests the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

		Incomplete applications may not be considered.
		Faxes will not be accepted unless faxes also are sent to
		  each committee member by 5 p.m.  
		The original must be received by the Prof. Growth Chair by
		  the Monday after the deadline.

	Sabbaticals:  Original request plus 8 copies with documentation 
	must be received in Prof. Growth Chair's office by 5 p.m. on 
        June 1 or December 1.  Sabbatical requests must be submitted for the
	deadline that is 6 months in advance.

		June 1 is for January - June.
		December 1 is for July - December.

	Tuition Supplement:  Available in December or May if attending a
	college that has higher tuition costs and you have not been awarded
	the maximum allowed.  Submit a request indicating amount awarded and
	additional amount requested.  Must have copy of grade and first award
	letter.  Does not need President's signature.

Degree Stipend

	By October 15, unit MAT Presidents should submit names of those 
	expecting to complete degrees between July 1, 1996 and June 30, 
	1997.  Submit names and expected month of graduation to 
	Professional Growth Chair.

	MAT members should contact the Professional Growth Chair if they 
	will be getting a degree, but their names were not included on the 
	list submitted by their unit MAT President.
