Metal Preparation, Joints and Welding Symbols
Cleaning base metal, joint design considerations and preparing base metal joints for welding. Job code specifications and use of fit-up gauges and measuring devices to check joint fit up. Causes of distortion and joint misalignment. American Welding Society (AWS) Standard A2.4 on specific welding, and non-destructive examination symbols. Includes symbol reading exercise. Prerequisites: (Indentured status with the Arizona Builders Alliance and SUN136) or permission of the apprenticeship coordinator.
