Qualities, advantages, disadvantages, materials and manufactured products for single-ply roofing. Safe work practices. Types of single-ply systems. Installation of single-ply roofing systems. Installation of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), hot-air weld and modified bitumen roof systems. Detailing. Lining and waterproofing. Maintenance and repair of roof systems. Prerequisites: None.

1. Identify the qualities, advantages, disadvantages, materials, and manufactured products associated with single-ply roofing. (I)
2. Describe six different types of single-ply systems. (II)
3. Demonstrate safe working practices including safety factors, acts of God, common hazards, hazardous materials and protective gear associated with single-ply roofing. (III)
4. Demonstrate installation of a single-ply roofing system. (IV)
5. Demonstrate installation of specific ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) roofing systems using proper tools, equipment and materials. (V)
6. Demonstrate installation of specific hot-air welded systems using proper materials and equipment. (VI)
7. Demonstrate installation of atactic polypropylene (APP) and styrene butadiene styrene (SBS) modified bitumen systems. (VII)
8. Demonstrate installation of detailing for EPDM and hot-air welded systems using proper tools, equipment and materials. (VIII)
9. Inspect and repair roofs including maintenance, troubleshooting, tie-offs, and night seals. (IX)
10. Install liners and waterproofing safely using the proper materials. (X)
