1. Apply knowledge of infection control, first aid, and safety in the clinical setting. (I, VII)
2. Describe and apply basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the vascular system. (II)
3. Apply quality assurance procedures in specimen collection. (III)
4. Utilize and describe basic collection equipment, various types of additives, special precautions necessary, and substances that can interfere in clinical analysis of blood constituents. (II, III)
5. Perform proper fundamental venipuncture and capillary puncture technique. (II, III)
6. Perform proper specimen handling. (III, IV)
7. Use basic laboratory computer skills involved in laboratory specimen procurement. (V)
