Use of graphical user interface (GUI) to control the operating system for enhancing and improving application functionality: basic graphical user interface concepts, techniques, functions, commands and applications. Prerequisites: None.

1. Identify and define the major components of graphical user interface (GUI) environment. (I, II)
2. Start GUI and an internal GUI application. (I)
3. Show GUI familiarity by using a mouse to demonstrate basic control of windows and icons. (I)
4. Demonstrate the use of multiple windows. (I)
5. Identify and define the basic special commands and special running notes. (I)
6. Demonstrate, using the GUI, basic operating system executive functions, such as file and print manager tools. (I)
7. Demonstrate and explain the use of at least four internal applications, such as Write, Notepad, Draw, etc., application (accessary). (II)
8. Demonstrate and describe the uses of a graphical application (accessory) package. (III)
9. Demonstrate and describe the use of the word processing accessory, or other accessory. (IV)
