1. | Identify the capabilities and features of a specific emission control system as applied to a given make, year and model car when provided with an appropriate service or reference manual. (I) |
2. | Locate in the appropriate service manual all specifications and information pertinent to a specific emissions system (I) |
3. | Perform test procedures on individual components and circuits as directed by the appropriate service manual and be able to determine from such tests if the components or circuit is operating properly. (II) |
4. | Use test procedures as directed by the manufacturer to verify the satisfactory performance of a given system. (II) |
5. | Put a given system into self diagnostic mode where applicable and interpret code signals. (II) |
6. | Identify and perform adjustments provided by the manufactures to restore proper vehicle operation. (II) |
