Prosthetics and Orthotics in Rehabilitation
Current concepts in the use of prosthetics and orthotics in physical therapy. Principles of rehabilitation of the upper and lower extremity amputee. Effects of orthoses on human locomotion. Treament of patients and proper documentation.
Prerequisites: PTA206 or permission of Department or Division.

4. Describe common orthoses used for the spine, and for the upper and lower extremities. (II)
5. Describe the effects of lower extremity orthoses on human locomotion. (II)
6. Treat select patients requiring prosthetics and orthotics. (II)
7. Document care given to patients requiring prosthetics and orthotics in accordance with professional standards. (I, II)
