Nursing Science III
Provides opportunity for the application of critical thinking skills through the nursing process to clients with medical, surgical and mental health problems. Provides for the development of clinical competency in the performance of selected nursing skills and procedures within the scope of the registered nurse. Clinical practice experiences with individuals, small groups, and families in a variety of acute and community health care settings. Clinical learning experiences focus on assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care. Application of professional nursing concepts and theories related to health promotion of individuals and families, maintenance to facilitate healthy lifestyles and meeting complex human needs. Prerequisites: NUR180, NUR184, NUR186, NUR188, HCC208, and HCR240AB.

12. Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with members of the health care team. (VI)
13. Use pharmacodynamic and pharmacotherapeutic principles to safely administer enteral, parenteral, and percutaneous medications within the scope of practice. (VIII)
14. Apply knowledge and skills from the behavioral, physical, and social sciences to assist clients and families to implement a plan of care to achieve an optimum level of wellness. (III)
