Massage Modalities
Introduction to principles and techniques of prenatal massage, infant/child massage, lymphatic drainage massage, deep-tissue massage, trigger-point therapy, muscle energy technique, energetic techniques, corporate massage, total body compression, geriatric massage, cranialsacral therapy, myofacial release, temporalmandibular joint release, and polarity therapy. Prerequisites: WED165 and WED200. Corequisites: WED250.

2. Describe the principles and techniques of infant-child massage. (II)

4. Explain the principles of deep-tissue massage, including Rolfing, Trager, Feldenkrais, Hellerwork, and Jin Shin Jitsu. (IV)

6. Describe the principles and technique of the muscle energy technique. (VI)
7. Describe the philosophy and techniques of the energetic techniques of acupressure, Shiatsu, reflexology, Touch for Health, and Jin Shin Jitsu. (VII)
8. Describe the equipment and techniques used in corporate massage. (VIII)
9. Describe the principles and techniques of total body compression. (IX)
10. State the benefits, contraindications, and techniques of geriatric massage. (X)
