Practicum: Observation
Provides the opportunity to obtain observation experience in both the health care and educational delivery systems as they work with speech-language disordered patients/students. A minimum of 50 practicum hours required in each type of delivery system. Prerequisites: Completion of a minimum of 12 credits of required courses in the Associate of Applied Science Speech-Language Pathology program and concurrent enrollment in SLP221.

1. Identify and describe the documentation types and procedures related to speech-language pathology patients that are required within a health care delivery system. (I)
2. Prepare assigned documentation for evaluation by the instructor and/or the supervisor.(I-II)
3. Perform assigned tasks in a professional and timely manner.(I- II)
4. Identify and describe the documentation types and procedures related to speech-language pathology students that are required within an educational delivery system.(II)
5. Respect and maintain confidentiality of patients/students and perform activities within the boundaries of training and task assignments. (I-II)
