Professional Legal Secretary
Study of entry-level secretarial duties, including ethical conduct with office staff and the public, maintaining professional image, preparing correspondence, handling mail and performing calendaring and docketing tasks, and preparing and organizing office files; using legal vocabulary; preparing documents such as affidavits, acknowledgments, legal descriptions, wills, and corporate organizations; studying the state and federal court system and civil procedure; preparing and processing pleadings using proper captions and citation format; and preparing documents for service of process. Prerequisites: LAS101. Prerequisites or Corequisites: GBS205 or permission of Department/Division.
