Advanced Surgical Procedures
Major body systems and anatomical structures with corresponding terms and abbreviations related to Surgical Technology. Advanced techniques for pre-operative, intra- operative and post-operative periods. Lasers and scopes. Application to surgical and specialized procedures including orthopedic, peripheral vascular, cardio-vascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, ophthalmic, plastic reconstructive with grafting. Prerequisites: SGT110 or permission of the department.

2.	Identify anatomical structures, incisional approaches and describe function of affected organs. (I, II)

4.	Describe preparation, care and handling of specialty instruments, supplies and accessory equipment during the pre- operative, intra-operative and post-operative periods. (IV)
5.	Describe protection for the anesthetized patient and demonstrate positioning and draping. (V)
6.	Describe step-by-step procedure for opening and closure of specific surgeries. (VI)
