Develops knowledge and skills in team, dual, and individual sports. Reviews rules, etiquette, and safety standards associated with the sport. Explores methods and teaching progressions used in the instruction of team, dual and individual sports. May be repeated for credit. Required of P. E. majors.

1. Perform the fundamental skills of the activity with proper body mechanics and adherence to health and safety standards.(I)
2. Perform the activity as dictated by the rules, etiquette, and traditional performance standards of the sport. (II)
3. Identify, describe, and demonstrate appropriate teaching progressions and class management procedures. (III)
4. Develop drills, warm-up activities and other appropriate teaching methods and apply them in a teaching situation. (III)
5. Write a lesson plan and use it in a micro-teaching situation.(III)
6. Identify and use appropriate skill testing techniques and identify essential elements/performance errors in the basic skills of the sport. (III)
