Occupational Safety Principles and Practice

History of safety management. References for safety and health standards, federal, state and local codes. Emphasis on fire safety, Workers' Compensation and product liability. Environmental regulations, common environmental hazards, hazard assessment techniques, recordkeeping, computation of accident rates, and accident investigation techniques.

Prerequisites: GTC/OSH106.

Identify common workplace hazards and select appropriate control. (V)

6.

Given a list of accidents, describe the "recordables" on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 200 log and compute incidence and severity rates. (VI)

7.

Given the same list of accidents as in number 6, explain the appropriate accident investigation techniques. (VII)
