Provides an overview of funding sources for grants. Reviews techniques and skills necessary to develop successful proposals. Focuses on the design and writing of a complete grant proposal related to a selected problem or issue. Prerequisites: None.

1. Research and identify available funding sources for a selected problem or issue. (I)
2. Collect and synthesize data from a variety of sources regarding a particular problem in preparation for writing a proposal.(II)
3. Develop a full proposal including a statement of the problem and an analysis of the problem and a program designed to solve the problem. (II)
4. Prepare a line-item budget for a program and identify and describe means for evaluation of a program within a proposal. (II)
5. Prepare a proposal letter for a request for funding according to the requirements of a particular foundation or agency. (III)
6. Identify and demonstrate effective techniques for packaging a grant proposal.(IV)
