Medical/Surgical Nursing
Practical nurse role and scientific principles in care of adult and pediatric patients with acute and chronic health care needs emphasized through medical/surgical theory and the nursing process. Includes preparation for diagnostic examinations, medications administration, pharmacology principles, and addressing the nutritional and cultural needs of the adult, elderly, and pediatric patient. Clinical experience in meeting the above needs provided through acute care and community health care settings. Use of computer software. Prerequisites: NUR101AB or equivalent.
