Fundamentals of Medical Radiography
Preparation for entry into the medical field. Medical ethics and the relationship of the radiologic technologist to other medical fields. Theoretical and practical understanding of nursing care. Includes basic medical terminology, basic radiation protection, first aid, and body mechanics. Prerequisites: Permission of program director.

2. Explain the role of the medical radiographer within the health team concept. (II)

5. Describe the proper safety precautions utilized in transporting patients, minimizing risk of fire or explosion and minimizing undesirable radiation exposure. (V)
6. Demonstrate and discuss nursing skills required of a technologist including infection control, medical asepsis, sterile technique, catheterization, administering enemas, administrating contrast media, temperature, pulse, respiration (TPR) and determining blood pressure. (VI-VIII)
