Elementary Portuguese II

Continued study of basic grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary of the Portuguese language. Includes study of Lusophone cultures and practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Prerequisites: POR101 or permission of Department or Division.

7.

Use regular and irregular comparisons of equality and inequality in Portuguese. (I, III, IV)

8.

Use Portuguese grammar and vocabulary to express personal ideas and opinions. (I, III, IV)

Read and explain simple journalistic and literary Portuguese. (II)

10.

Describe various aspects of Lusophone culture and values. (I, II, III, IV)

11.

Identify and describe the regions, cities, and rivers of Brazil and Portugal. (I, II, III, IV)

Describe the pluperfect tense, and use the personal infinitive in Portuguese. (I, III, IV)

13.

Write a composition of 150-200 words in Portuguese. (III)
