1. Identify acceptable abbreviations and initials used in medical reports. (I)
2. Create medical words by combining various medical roots. (I)
3. Identify, spell, and define medical terminolgy pertaining to anatomical position, body directions and planes, and human anatomical systems. (II)
4. Spell and identify diagnosis, and surgical and diagnostic procedures common to each of the anatomical systems. (II)
5. Practice generally accepted pronunciations of medical terms. (II)
6. Use appropriate medical references to prepare medical documents. (III)
7. Emphasize the importance of legal and medical ethics and the responsibility of the individual to practice ethical behavior, (IV)
8. Create awareness of career opportunities that require knowledge of medical vocabulary. (V)
