Selected pipe joints laid out, cut and welded in all positions with various
types of electrodes. Introduction of specific techniques for pipe welding
certification. Prerequisites: WLD106 or approval of welding program coordinator. | |||

| 1. | Perform both welding processes, stick electrode and heliarc, on plate steel and large diameter pipe. (I) |
| 2. | Explain all sequence welding passes and the proper manipulation of each. (II) |
| 3. | Identify three electrode types and perform welds with these electrode types. (III) |
| 4. | Identify and demonstrate three basic weld positions. (IV) |
| 5. | Explain three thicknesses of pipe and proper set-up procedures prior to welding. (V) |
| 6. | Perform various weld test positions using the E6010 and E7018 electrodes. (VI) |
| 7. | Identify different types of pipe joints and their uses. (VII) |
