Reading and writing exercises in Spanish which supplement material covered in SPA005AC. Appropriate also for students who wish an instructional aid in conjunction with the study of Spanish, either independently or in other Spanish courses. Emphasis on Hispanic culture. Prerequisites: None.

1. Use the auxiliary verbs haber and estar in writing complete Spanish sentences in the perfect and progressive tenses, with correct spelling and accentuation. (I)
2. Read paragraphs of five to seven Spanish sentences, and identify both the main idea and supporting details. (II)
3. Make inferences based on reading paragraphs written in Spanish. (II.C)
4. Combine simple Spanish sentences into complex sentences, using subordination. (III.A)
5. Write complex sentences about aspects of Hispanic culture. (III.B)
6. Write short paragraphs (at least five sentences) about aspects of Hispanic culture. (IV)

        III. Writing sentences in Spanish
            A. Combining simple sentences into complex, using subordination
            B. Writing complex sentences about Hispanic culture (e.g. celebrations, food, geography, music)
          IV. Writing short paragraphs about aspects of Hispanic culture (at least five sentences)
