Nursing Science IV
Integration of nursing theory and nursing process as applied to the acutely ill child and adult with complex problems of coping during adaptation to multiple stessors caused by body systems dysfunction. Emphasis on setting priorities and making nursing judgments in the clinical setting, as the role transition from student to graduate nurse is made. Legal and ethical issues and standards of practice reinforced. Prerequisites: NUR232 with a grade of "C" or better.

1. Apply the nursing process when caring for the acutely ill adult and pediatric patient who may be experiencing neurological, integumentary, cardiovascular, respiratory, and/or endocrine dysfunctions. (I, II, III, V)
2. Implement the nursing process with terminally ill adults and children and provide support to their families. (V)
3. Refine therapeutic communications skills in written format through clinical documentation and verbal interaction skills with health team members. (VI)
