Licensed Practical Nurse Update

Role and responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Application of nursing care for medical-surgical patients, use of the nursing process and administration of medications. Includes expanded role of the Licensed Practical Nurse, principles of safe nursing practice, legal/ethical issues, human growth and development, therapeutic communication and physical assessment skills. For Licensed Practical Nurses returning to active nursing in the acute care setting. Prerequisites: Current license as a Practical Nurse.
