Institution Pharmacy Internship
Application of pharmacy technician knowledge and skills in the hospital and outpatient/Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) settings. Maintain patient medication files and prepare medication for unit stock distribution. Transcription of orders into prescription labels, calculation of tablets/volume amount for outpatient prescriptions. Assisting with preparation of parenteral solutions and special handling of intravenous antineoplastic agents. Application of ethical and legal aspects to pharmacy practice. Prerequisites: Typing proficiency of 35 WPM and PHT102, PHT106, PHT107, PHT108, and PHT109 or permission of department.
