Radiochemistry/Radiopharmacology II
Choice of pharmaceutical by organ system. Radiopharmaceutical preparation, storage, labeling, and recordkeeping. Description of federal and state agencies governing the use of radiopharmaceuticals. Survey of radiopharmaceuticals utilized in therapeutic procedures. Nonradioactive and radioactive assay pharmaceuticals, production, administration, and reliability. Quality control techniques for pharmaceutical production. Advanced pharmacology concepts and localization techniques. Radiopharmaceuticals used in Positron Emission Tomography (P.E.T.). Prerequisites: NMT235 or permission of program director or department chair.
