History of the American Flag
Provides the student with a progressive understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a military ceremonial color guard. Includes an appreciation for the traditions and customs of presenting the American flag; the evolution of the flag as a national symbol; and the principle historical events associated with changes in its construction. Emphasizes the practical aspects of presenting the flag to the public and requires active participation in the Arizona State University Color Guard sponsored by the Department of Military Science (Army ROTC). Prerequisites: None.
