Machinery Installation and Erection I
Study of proper installation, erection, preparation and testing of industrial machinery and equipment. Prerequisites: Indentured Apprentice status and MWR102.

MWR103   19886-20046 Machinery Installation and Erection I
1. List, in the proper series of events, the steps necessary in the erection of industrial machinery, including all preparatory and follow-up procedures. (I)
2. Interpret specifications and details from equipment drawings necessary in the layout and erection of machinery. (I-II)
3. Demonstrate the proper methods of setting, leveling and alignment of soleplates, bedplates and machine bases. (I)
4. Identify and define the different parts of threads, drills, taps, dowels, chains (roller), and couplings. (II)
5. Demonstrate the proper method of drilling, tapping, reaming, scrapping, stoning and fitting. (II)
6. Demonstrate the proper use and application of lubricants. (II)
7. Demonstrate techniques of shaft and coupling alignment, within specified tolerances. (II)
