Operating Room Practicum III

1.

Prepare, setup and utilize instruments, equipment and supplies during the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative periods. (I)

2.

Utilize principles of asepsis and safety in the care of patients and equipment. (I)

3.

Maintain consistent timing for passing instruments and equipment determined by surgeon's need. (II)

4.

Identify anatomical parts and recognize abnormal or diseased conditions. (II)

5.

Communicate effectively with physicians, patients and team members. (III)

6.

Demonstrate ethical and professional relations in performing routine and special surgical procedures. (IV)

7.

Describe specific responsibilities of each member of the surgical team and including personal and legal limitations. (IV)
