Navajo for Navajo-Speaking Students II
Continued study of the Navajo language for Navajo-speaking students. Advanced practice and development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Emphasis on fluency and accuracy of increasingly complex topics of the Navajo language and study of Navajo people and cultures.
Prerequisites: (NAV201 or NAV203), or (permission of Instructor or Department Chair).
Course Note: NAV204 is conducted entirely in Navajo. May be taken in lieu of NAV202.

1. Ask and answer questions and express opinions extemporaneously about a variety of increasingly complex topics using Navajo pronunciation, intonation, and syntax. (I, II)
2. Demonstrate comprehension of elements of increasingly complex selections of Navajo-language music, films, and television programs. (II)
3. Derive meaning from increasingly complex authentic Navajo texts. (III)
4. Write a composition of at least 300 words using correct Navajo structure and following the writing process (organizing, writing, revising, and proofreading). (IV)
5. Identify and describe current events and issues related to Navajo people, language, and culture. (I-V)
