Application
of holistic nursing concepts and theories related to health promotion,
disease/illness prevention and health restoration of individuals and
families. Development of clinical competency in the performance of selected
nursing skills, participation in the care of clients across the life span
including clients with alterations in health. Focus on role of the practical
nurse collaborating with other healthcare personnel to provide nursing care
to childbearing families, infants, children, and adolescents. Includes
concepts of management including delegation, prioritizing care, and
decision-making. Includes concepts of critical thinking, cultural diversity,
interpersonal communication, legal/ethical issues and health teaching to
integrate holistic care for clients across the lifespan. Prerequisites: NUR161PN and NUR169PN. |
