Nurse Assisting Lab

Demonstration of problem solving, professional behavior and therapeutic communication skills. Demonstration of caring behaviors and ensuring environmental safety for the client. Provides opportunity for the development of clinical competency in the performance of selected nursing assisting skills and procedures through participation in the care of clients.

Prerequisites: Completed Health and Safety Documentation Checklist (Proof of immunity or immunizations for Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Varicella, Hepatitis B, current TB testing, and current Health Care Provider CPR card) and completed Health Declaration form. Corequisites: NUR156.

Course Note:NUR156 and NUR157 must be successfully completed concurrently to meet program requirements.

Demonstrate simple problem solving to provide care to clients with alterations in health under the direction of the nursing staff. (III)

Demonstrate caring behaviors when interacting with clients in acute and long term agencies. (V)
