Basic Spanish Study Tour
One-week tour designed to develop tourist vocabulary and survival skills in a Spanish-speaking country. Also includes cultural tours to museums and architectural sites. Prerequisites: None.

1. Use a basic vocabulary needed on a tour in a Spanish-speaking country. (I)
2. Ask for and follow directions in Spanish. (I)
3. Use Spanish to locate restrooms, use telephones, order hotel room service, and purchase products in local pharmacies to satisfy personal needs. (II)
4. Locate banks and other money exchange agencies, restaurants, the local post office, a hospital, museums, and retail shops. (II, III)
5. Complete a transaction to exchange American money for currency of the Spanish-speaking country. (II)
6. Read Spanish-language menus and order meals from them. (II)
7. Apply Spanish vocabulary to purchase local goods at a variety of retail sources. (II)
8. Describe selected examples of art and archeology in a Spanish-speaking country. (III)
