Review of essential grammar of the Spanish language and study of the Spanish-speaking cultures and continued practice and development of reading, writing, and speaking skills. Emphasis on fluency and accuracy in spoken Spanish. Prerequisites: SPA102, two years of high school Spanish, or departmental approval

1. Explain main ideas of extended aural discourse of increasingly complex topics in Spanish. (I)
2. Answer questions and express opinions extemporaneously about a variety of topics using Spanish pronunciation, intonation, and a full range of verb forms. (II)
3. Derives meaning from authentic Spanish texts on a variety of subjects. (III)
4. Write a composition of at least 200 words using Spanish structure and vocabulary, and following the writing process (organizing, writing, revising, proofreading). (IV)
5. Describe and explain the norms, values, and beliefs of cultures in which Spanish is commonly used. (V)
6. Identify and describe cultural achievements in the Spanish- speaking world. (III, V)
