Advanced Radiologic Pathology

Terminology related to the disease process. Explain general principles of disease. Disease control measures to include education, asepsis, isolation, communicability, and diet. Radiographic appearances of specific forms of pathology. Symptoms, prognosis, and diagnosis of specific forms of pathology.

Prerequisites: Currently enrolled in medical radiography program, or graduate radiologic technologist, or permission of instructor.

Write an essay following specific essay instructions and present a short oral presentation on specific topics involving radiographic pathology. (I)

Explain specific measures of disease control including education, asepsis, isolation, communicability, and diet. (IV)

Describe the pathophysiology radiographic appearances of: congenital defects, traumatic injuries, bacterial and viral infections, circulatory disorders, degenerative changes, neoplasms and poisons. (V-IX)

Describe the symptoms, prognosis, diagnosis and the radiographic appearance of diseases involving the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, biliary, urinary, and skeletal systems. (IV)
