Dental Hygiene Theory IV
Study of advanced patient care. Includes study of patients with special needs, periodontal surgical techniques and modalities as well as legal, ethical and practice management issues related to dental hygiene. Prerequisites: DHE211 and DHE222.

5. Explain the implications the Americans with Disabilities Act has upon dental hygiene practice. (I, II)
6. Summarize the current methods and types of periodontal surgical intervention. (III)
7. Determine appropriate type of surgical intervention based on patient needs. (III)
8. Differentiate between the various terms and levels of licensure related to the practice of dental hygiene. (IV)
9. Examine the Arizona State Dental Practice Act and state practice statues. (IV)
