Dental Hygiene Theory I
Introduction to the development of dental hygiene as a profession and basic self-disease control methods as well as basic principles of clinical dental hygiene. Skills involving instrumentation, universal precautions, patient assessment, preventative treatment and infection control are practiced. Prerequisites: Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program or permission of the instructor.

2. Demonstrate effective self-disease control methods including plaque techniques and interdent cleaning. (II)
3. Operate and maintain dental equipment. (III)

5. Indicate the purpose of performing an intra and extra oral tissue assessment. (V)
