Basic legal issues encountered in the health environment to include malpractice, liability, negligence, assault and battery. The importance and legal significance of the patient chart or medical record. Application of ethical guidelines to include client privacy, rights, and confidentiality. Concepts related to institutional governance. Continuous assessment/improvement issues. Clinical outcome measures, performance goals and evaluation. Prerequisites: HCC100AA, HCC100AB, HCC100AC, HCC100AD, HCC100AE, HCC100AF and HCC100AG.
