English as a Second Language I
First level of English as a Second Language (ESL). Emphasis on basic conversational skills, pronunciation, vocabulary building and grammar. Some reading and sentence level writing. Credit (P) or no credit (Z). Standard grading available according to procedures outlined in catalog. May be repeated for a maximum of six (6) credits. Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL placement test score.

3. Use subject and object pronouns in both conversation and simple written sentences. (III)
4. Use common adjectives and advervs, as well as possessive adjectuves and advervs of frequency, in both conversation and simple written sentences. (IV)
5. Use common prepositions in both conversation and simple written sentences. (V)
6. Use the following types of nouns in both conversation and simple written sentences: count (singular and plural) and non-count. (VI)
