4. Define basic terms/codes related to phlebotomy, laboratory testing, and specimen processing. (IV)
5. Describe and use basic equipment, various types of additives, and special precautions when collecting and processing specimens for clinical analysis of blood constituents. (V)
6. Identify and describe the anatomy and physiology of the vascular system. (VI)
7. Perform proper procedures in basic venous and capillary blood collection. (VII)
8. Describe and use various basic methods involved in specimen handling, referral procedures, storage, and transporting laboratory specimens. (VIII)
