Continued supervised application of principles of child growth and development in early childhood programs by assisting a classroom teacher in providing age-appropriate play and learning experiences in one of the following settings: a child care center, a preschool, a primary grade classroom or a special education program. Prerequisites or Corequisites: ECH285.

1. Consult with faculty coordinator to determine a placement appropriate to career goals.
2. Apply early childhood development principles to work experience in the assigned program.
3. Communicate and interact effectively with young children, family members, and program personnel as appropriate.
4. Record and share a reflective journal of experiences and learning in the program on a regular basis with the faculty coordinator.
5. Demonstrate an increased awareness of differences in program types and goals serving young children and their families.
6. Prepare and submit a resume of work experience relevant to seeking employment in early childhood education.
