Oral Pathology
Identification, classification, etiology, sequela, and treatment of lesions of the oral mucosa and abnormal conditions of the oral cavity and supporting structures. Brief introduction to the processes of inflammation, repair, and immunity. Emphasis on oral manifestations of systemic diseases. Prerequisites: Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program or permission of instructor.

11. Describe and recognize from slides and/or photographs oral manifestations associated with HIV disease including microbiological, immunological, pathological, ethical and legal aspects, transmission, and risk factors. (XI)
12. Describe and identify from slides and/or photographs normal oral structures mistaken for pathological conditions. (XII)
13. Describe and identify from slides and/or photographs the oral manifestations associated with child abuse and neglect. (XIII)
