Conversational French |
||
Combines new vocabulary with student's knowledge of basic
grammatical patterns to build confidence and competence in speaking French in
everyday, culturally oriented situations. Develops listening and speaking
skills for rapid everyday conversational exchange in French. Prerequisites: FRE201, or FRE202, or
FRE225, or FRE226, or permission of Instructor. Course

Advanced Conversational French |
1.

Create French sentences orally, using correct
pronunciation. (I) |

Identify and
use various aspects of French grammar, such as verb tenses, position of
adjectives and adverbs, comparative and superlative, and direct and indirect
object pronouns. (II) |

Demonstrate
listening comprehension skill by answering questions posed in French and/or
participating in interviews conducted in French. (III) |

Ask and answer questions in French about different
situations when in a small group or when speaking to an audience. (IV) |

Compose and use oral expressions in French when in
specific conversational settings. (IV) |
6.

Demonstrate oral skills using abstract and sophisticated
French expressions. (IV) |

Investigate and report in French the tradition of a
French-speaking country. (IV) |

Prepare
mini-plays, discussions about a given topic, and debates which are presented
in French to a group or to an audience. (IV) |

Demonstrate French vocabulary skills appropriate to daily

Describe in French the customs and culture of the French
