Aural Comprehension for ESL IV
Designed to aid the English as a Second Language (ESL) student to understand and communicate orally in English. Emphasis on pronunciation and listening ability. May be taken concurrently with ENG009, ENG010, ENG011, or ENG012. May be repeated for a maximum of six (6) credits. Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL placement test score.

1. Give a five minute oral presentation on a given topic.
2. Express several intentions, plans and resolutions about the future.
3. Explain step by step procedures necessary to accomplish a selected activity.
4. Describe specific situations, giving details, qualities, and characteristics.
5. Express facts, opinions, viewpoints in conversations about selected issues.
6. Use literal and interpretive language to analyze assigned topic.
7. Relate several past experiences using the simple past tense and the past perfect tense.
8. Express in 3 or 4 sentences intentions using the conditional mood.
9. Discuss conditions contrary to fact.
10. Discuss several activities using reflexive pronouns.
