Aural Comprehension for ESL III
Designed to aid the English as a Second Language (ESL) student to understand and communicate orally in English. Emphasis on pronunciation and listening ability. May be taken concurrently with ENG009, ENG010, ENG011, or ENG012. May be repeated for a maximum of six (6) credits. Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL placement test score.

3. Ask for and give confirmation of an opinion in general conversation.

6. Request adjustments, refunds, or exchanges in stores or when paying bills.
7. Use idiomatic expressions.
8. Contradict another's opinion and insist in general conversation.
9. Draw inferences on or make his/her own guesses, based on information provided.
10. Describe similarities and differences using transition words, such as however, but, likewise, in spite of, etc.
11. Relate experiences in the definite and indefinite past using the present perfect tense.
