EMT241   19916-19945 Advanced Cardiac Life Support Refresher Course
1. Insert successfully oral and nasal airways, the Esophogeal Obturator Airway (EOA) and Esopageal Gastric Obturator Airway (EGTA). (I, V, VI, VII)
2. Apply correctly the face mask, nasal cannula, and bag-valve-mask devices, noting the percentage of oxygen delivered for each adjunct. (I, V, VI, VII)
3. Perform correctly endotracheal intubation. (I, V, VI, VII)
4. Interpret correctly basic EKG rhythm disturbances. (II, V, VI, VII)
5. Identify the dysrhythmia and predict the anticipated mechanical, pharmacologic, and electrical interventions. (II, V, VI, VII)
6. State the indications, contraindications, use and abuse for each medication. (III, V, VI, VII)
7. Perform all the skills in basic life support for "C" level certification, i.e. one- and two-man CPR for adult and child; conscious and unconscious obstructed maneuvers for adult, child, and infant victims; CPR for infant victims. (IV, V, VI, VII)
8. Explain and perform safely electrical interventions when given a patient simulation for unstable supraventricular tachycardia, unstable ventricular tachycarida, and ventricular fibrillation. (V, VI,VII)
9. As the leader of the response team, manage each memeber of the team by evaluating CPR, airway management, and electrical and pharmacologic intervention when given a "code" situation. (VI, VII)
10. Complete a written exam of fifty multiple choice questions covering all materials with no less than 84 percent proficiency. (VII)
11. Complete a written patient management examination; identify the rhythm disturbance presented and the anticipated mechanical, pharmacologic, and/or electrical interventions for each situation within 84 percent proficiency, including 100 percent accuracy in the management of ventricular fibrillation tachycardia, and asystole. (VII)
