Principles of architectural design and residential construction. Development and use of schematics, sketches, elevations, plans, and details for designing residential structures. Prerequisites: DFT121 or equivalent or departmental approval.

1. Use correctly the vocabulary, terminology, symbols, and equipment found in the residential architectural and construction industry. (I, II, V)
2. Work from sketches of a residential structure to produce detail drawings up to professional office standards. (II, V)
3. Create or alter the design of a residence by applying evaluation criteria developed by the architect. (II, V)
4. Summarize the relationship of residential architecture to society, theeconomy, and technology. (VI)
