Intermediate Japanese Conversation
Continued development of skills in conversational Japanese for effective communication and study of the Japanese culture. Includes intermediate Japanese conversation, advanced structural approach to Japanese grammar, the Japanese writing system and civilization. Prerequisites: JPN225 or departmental approval.

1. Pronounce a basic Japanese vocabulary using the correct pitch accent. (I)
2. Correctly use a basic Japanese vocabulary composed of advanced words of business and culture. (I)

4. Differentiate between expressions of reserve and humility. (II)
5. Use advanced Japanese phrases, expressions, and levels of speech appropriate to address people with a lower social status. (II)
