Advanced techniques in upholstering of furniture and other needle-trade items; time and money saving shortcuts in layout; fabric cutting and sewing. Prerequisites: GTC157 or permission of instructor.

2. Select fabrics and furniture styles which complement other furnishings. (I, II)
3. Calculate materials needed to complete projects using standard and nonstandard fabric widths. (II)
4. Describe construction characteristics of a quality piece of upholstered furniture. (III)
5. Apply advanced layout, cutting and sewing techniques to upholstered accessories and other useful needle-trade items. (IV)
6. Complete quality upholstery projects such as: Old Santa Fe chest, Parson's bench, antique stool, decorative screen, or other items using the advanced techniques taught in class. (III, IV)
