Projects in Community Service | |||
This course gives the student opportunity to gain work experience in an
area of community service which helps relate his/her academic interests to
real-life situations. Student and instructor select assignments from an
available list of community agencies and organizations which have indicated
a need for volunteer workers. The student attends a one-hour seminar weekly
and in addition, for each credit in special projects he/she must devote a
minimum of 60 hours each semester in designated volunteer assignments.

1. | In consultation with the instructor, select a volunteer work experience that matches academic and career goals. (I) |
2. | Plan and write objectives to be met through the volunteer work experience. (II) |
3. | Work a minimum of 180 clock hours in volunteer assignments. (III) |
4. | Write a journal that tracks and evaluates experiences and responses throughout the volunteer assignment. (IV) |
