Clinical application of Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) skills and knowledge acquired during pre-requisites courses. Full supervision of tests performed with progression to independent testing. Prerequisites: HCE113, EEG116, and EEG130. Corequisites: EEG210 and EEG201. |

1. Display professionalism, observe rules and regulations of clinical sites and participate in the work flow of the EEG laboratory. (I) 2. Maintain patient confidentiality while accurately compiling medical history from the patient, family & medical records. (I) 3. Develop a friendly, professional rapport with patients for maximum cooperation and quality test results. (I) 4. Measure head and attaches electrodes accurately using the 10-20 system. (I, II, III) 5. Perform EEGs in a variety of patient areas demonstrating electrical safety and compliance with Universal precautions. (I, II, III, IV) 6. Calibrate, measure, and adjust equipment for best testing results. (II, III, IV) 7. Identify the background activity of each EEG and the normal variations & abnormal waveforms. (II, III, IV) 8. Return patients and testing site satisfactorily to a clean pre-test condition. (V) 9. Demonstrates compliance with department post-test documentation. (V) 10. Demonstrate knowledge of use of related neurodiagnostic tests in patient diagnosis. (VI) |
